The Tony Award nominations came out today! Hopefully, your favorite Broadway shows earned a nod (or ten). But imagine if the Tony Awards happened twice a year! Here are a few reasons why twice is nice.
1) You’d get to see Neil Patrick Harris more than once a year.
2) There’d be more time to honor and support the technical aspects of theatre.
3) There’d be more exposure for shows that are later in the season.
4) A wider variety of performers and performance genres would get to be represented.
5) Longer performances = more view time.
6) More of your favorite celebrities will get to attend the award show.
7) There’d be even more Patti LuPone (in all of her glory).
8) You’d get to sing your heart out to an even greater amount of Broadway performances.
