SPOTIFY: Best Broadway Songs To Belt During A Breakup

We’ve all been there, Heartbreak is one of the hardest things we go through. Regardless of age, breakups never seem to get easier. The important part of the process is learning what you need best to heal.
What’s a great way to do that? Belting broadway songs in the shower, in the car, in the practice room… Really anywhere!
“There’s a Fine, Fine Line” from Avenue Q
Starting the playlist off on the right foot, this one will remind you that you know what you bring to the table. Unrequited love is never fun, but taking care of yourself is most important.
“I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outa My Hair” from South Pacific
Feeling a bit sassier here, we’re taking it to the classic musical, South Pacific. This one is best in the shower for obvious reasons. Rinse, lather, and repeat if needed.
“So Much Better” from Legally Blonde
The mood for 2019, and every breakup really, needs to be when Elle Woods sees her name in black and white on that list.
“Still Hurting” from The Last Five Years
Whether you’re a Jamie or Kathy, this song nails the feeling of breaking up.
“Maybe This Time” from Cabaret
“It’s got to happen, happen sometime… Maybe this time, maybe this I’ll win.” Liza, our queen, reminds us… We’re going to be okay. Things will work out exactly as they are meant to.
“Send in the Clowns (Act Two)” from A Little Night Music
When you are feeling silly for loving someone as much as you did.
“I’m Not That Girl” from Wicked
Nothing and I mean nothing, can compare to feeling like we aren’t good enough for the person we love. When you feel this way, look in the mirror, and remind yourself of all the things that make you unique.
“We Do Not Belong Together” from Sunday in the Park With George
The lyric that gets us here: “What made it so right together is what made it all wrong.”
*brb clutching chest and belts like Bernadette is our vocal coach*
“Burn” from Hamilton
The song for when you’ve been scorned by the one you love most.
“On My Own” from Les Miserables
We mustn’t forget to wear a hat and brown coat with a belt around our waist, tightened, so we hit that high belt with the right breath support.
“Forget About the Boy” from Thoroughly Modern Millie
Go ahead and cut that chord to whoever you’re attached to, but be sure to throw on your tap shoes and choreograph something while you’re listening to this one.
“Without You” from Rent
On a slightly higher note, life does go on, with or without the person you loved. The world will continue to turn even when it might not feel like it.
