Name origins come from the Queen song, “Khashoggi’s Ship”, which references the Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.

Also known as “Pop” in some productions, Buddy is an elderly librarian and barkeep who Galileo and Scaramouche encounter in the Seven Seas of Rhye. Even the Khashoggi’s regime cannot erase the memories and “sacred musical texts” of long forbidden live music from his mind. He is a comedic character who is sometimes named from a combination of “grandfather” tropes in rock and roll music worldwide.

These characters have different names in productions, often based on male and female pop/rock icons of the day (i.e., Britney Spears and Ozzy Osbourne).
