The holiday season is here! Christmas carols will be heard all over the country. In stores, on the radio, and anywhere else you can think of! Regular Christmas carols might satisfy the average person, but not a thespian! Here are ten Christmas songs from musicals to add to your holiday carol binder.
1. “Abundance and Charity” from A Christmas Carol
In arguably, the most famous Christmas musical, Abundance and Charity follows Ebenezer Scrooge meeting the giant and jolly Ghost of Christmas Present — who can get anybody in the spirit of the season!
2. “We Need a Little Christmas” from Mame
A Christmas music staple, We Need a Little Christmas is heard across the world on radios once the Christmas season begins. This version, sung by the Broadway legend Angela Lansbury and the cast of Mame, will jumpstart the holly jolly season!

The Tony-nominated hit A Year with Frog and Toad, is the perfect show for young audiences, and “Merry Almost Christmas” is no exception. The cast sings a slow song to the audience as a nice and calming transition into this time of year.
4. “Merry Christmas, Maggie Thatcher” from Billy Elliot
If you’re into political songs, “Billy Elliot” is here for you. In Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher, London sings to, then prime minister, Maggie Thatcher in a show-stopping, side stitching musical number.
