Make sure the essentials and basics are up-to-date. This means polishing up resumes and updating headshots and skills. If it’s been over six months since your last headshot, and maybe your hair is lighter or skin tanner from summertime, you are due for a new headshot. If you finished another year of college, make sure all accomplishments are up-to-date on your resume. Lastly, give yourself a variety in the education department, formal trainings and all qualifications will help you stand out this audition season.

If you had a nice summer off that lacked staying physically active and eating right, it’s time to start the getting back into shape regime immediately. This will affect your overall energy level and mood in a positive manner. Be sure to ease back into the active life, don’t be too overly strenuous on your body and mind, this will prevent any sort of energy and stress on your body. Always stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and try to eat well and work out. Being serious about a  healthy lifestyle will help you be your best and perform your best.

Be proactive by keeping your skills up-to-date. If you took full advantage of summertime and being off, consider enrolling in a class to touch up dance, vocal and acting skills. Don’t just wait for the audition to start practicing!

Study before the audition! Learn the part, get a script, rehearse your vocals and dance routines. Be your true and unique self at the audition. Don’t be too hard on yourself as audition season is just starting up. Think of it as an experience! Remember to stay relaxed and present, this will surely make your confidence and talent shine.

After all, you are prepared enough by this point and back in shape for audition season!

Happy Auditioning!
