Tom and Penny's Yard Party [2] -

WJIK-TV, where Jesus is king, is a new and growing Christian television station with the goal of being the largest Christian television station in the country. One of the most popular shows on the station is “Tom and Penny’s Yard Party” hosted by Tom and Penny Barber, a young married couple. One of the shows main draws is the live child studio audience, and tonight’s very small audience is especially interesting. Construction in the lobby roof has let the rain soak the poor children to the bone, and one particularly quiet child refuses let go of an unusual suitcase he brought along with him. Before the show even begins all chaos breaks lose. Tom has left the tapes for tonight’s premiere of Penny’s new single, “My House Is Haunted by a Spirit; But It’s the Holy Ghost, So I Don’t Care” and she cannot perform the song without the necessary orchestrations. The children are now covered in tiny balls of toilet paper, the result of a failed attempt to dry them before the show. And no one can convince this little boy to let go of his suitcase. The show starts as normally as possible, but things take a drastic turn as Tom and Penny read a fan letter on live T.V. from the little boy with the suitcase’s mother telling them that she is going to commit suicide and wants her son to live with them. The second the show ends the police are called and they find the mother still alive. She is brought to the station and Tom and Penny realize the extreme level of intensity some of their fans have for the show, and for them.see less
