In the aftermath of a shooting spree, those who remain find themselves bound by the events against their will as they wrestle how to live in a world of sudden violence. The play is non-naturalistic and weaves their stories into ritual, memory, and impossible events. Travis is a young man who was never a “person of interest” in his own life. Travis goes on a vigilante shooting spree one night, loading up his truck with ammunition, and targeting the homes of sex offenders. At the end of it all, he is on a Greyhound, realizing there is no way out and surrounded by police, and takes his own life in front of Nola and her son. This play is the coming together of the victim’s loved ones, Tammy and Alice, and Travis’ mother, Cora, and Nola, who is grateful for Travis in sparing her and her son through his own death. The work is written on the order of the requiem mass, which is not explained to the audience, but should inform the spirit of the work.see less
