Christina Sivrich, is in our “Performer Spotlight” and she talks to us about how her time at Disney Cruise Line helped her land her Broadway debut in The Wedding Singer, and tells us about the audition process for Finding Nemo: The Musical at Walt Disney World. “Professor’s Corner” features Broadway performer Matthew Stocke discussing auditioning for college and why he was successful getting into the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University.
Intro to this Episode
In this episode of “In The Holding Room,” we are joined by performer and Broadway alumni Christina Sivrich, who has performed on Broadway in Grease, and The Wedding Singer. She has also has had an extensive career with The Walt Disney Company. For the past 7 years, she has been performing in the Equity production of Finding Nemo: The Musical at Walt Disney World as Dory and has also performed on Disney Cruise Line ships. It is interesting how a gig out in the ocean can help you land a Broadway show, and in this segment, she tells us how it all went down.
Matthew Stocke went from professional baseball prospect to working consistently on Broadway for the past 20 years. In “Professor’s Corner” he talks to us about his college program and why he was successful at his audition for Carnegie Mellon University and what got him on probation his freshmen year. He has great advice for anyone planning to audition for a theater program or who is currently in one. Matthew will be back in a future episode to talk about his audition process for some of the Broadway shows he has been in like Pretty Woman, The Last Ship, The Boy from Oz starring Hugh Jackman, The Full Monty, and Titanic.
