Amber Valois is a Florida-based theatrical director, writer and artist. Growing up in a family full of performers, she always thought she would be a performer too. However, she never fully pursued performing and found from an early age she was more interested in behind-the-scenes than being in front of the camera, or on stage, for that matter. She never thought she would find herself in the theater either. But she ultimately found her true passions were playwriting, screenwriting and directing. She graduated from Valencia College with an Associate’s in Entertainment Design and Technology with a specialization in Production Design, as well as an Associates in Theater / Dramatical Arts. Her first short play, “To Woo and To Woe Is I“, was produced and performed during Valencia College’s Student Directed 5 Minute One Act Festival, the theme being “Mistaken Identity.” The following year, her second short play “Dear You,” was performed in the same festival, following the theme of “Reflection/Mirror.” Since then, her short plays have been successfully produced and performed locally in Orlando. She also has the privilege of directing short plays written by local and national playwrights. When she is not directing, writing or painting, she is a pirate at a local dinner theater.
