MYLA LICHTMAN-FIELDS, Playwright/Screenwriter 17 of Myla's plays are available through Lulu.com and have gone Global. “FELIX & FANNY” was produced in the UK at London's Barbican in 2022 and in the York Concert Series featuring The Carducci String Quartet and 2 actors from the RSC (Luke Thallon and Lucy Phelps). The play was also performed live by California Artists Radio Theatre featuring Michael York and Samantha Eggar and has aired nationally on NPR and Sirius XM satellite radio. “BRIGID OF KILDARE” was performed at The Garland Little Theatre featuring Samantha Eggar and Monte Markham and was recorded by CART for radio broadcast and downloading on LearnOutLoud.com and Audiobooks.com. Audio recordings of both plays are available through the CART catalog (cartradio.com). "SATAN AMONGST US" was the 3rd place FINALIST in the Nitany Play Contest and was selected for presentation in Greenville University's New Play Festival. It received an excellent review for the Equity waiver production by St. Peter's Players in Palos Verdes, CA. Olympia Dukakis read the lead role of SARA in “LEARNING TO DANCE I N THE RAIN” in N .Y.C. The play was a semi-finalist in the Ashland new Play Festival and a Finalist in the IATI Theatre Award Contest in NYC. “THE STONE OF KILHARA” and “THE PEACEMAKERS” were read at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre, and “THE PEACEMAKERS” won 2nd place in the Stage & Screen contest and Act I was work-shopped at The O’Neill Playwriting Conference Center in CT and the play was read at The Hickory Playhouse in N.C. The Antaeus Company presented a staged reading of “VS. ROBERT SCHUMANN” (aka “Counterparts”), starring Apollo Dukakis and directed by Jessica Kubzansky. Myla’s plays“VS. ROBERT SCHUMANN” and “THE SCADALMAKERS” and were each selected and presented at The Great Plains Theatre Conference in Omaha, NE. “ACROSS THE GREAT DIVIDE” was produced for the second time (original in 1998) in August 2013 at The Jones Theater in Westcliffe, CO. “THE WETBACK”, directed by Anthony Barnao, was produced by Blue Sphere Alliance at the Lex Theatre in Hollywood and in Orange County in 2001. MYLA LICHTMAN-FIELDS’ plays have been produced by Equity and university theaters throughout the country and have received recognition in national playwriting contests. She studied at The Juilliard School of Drama, has a BA in Theatre from UCSD and an MA from SDSU, as well as a Ph.D. in Communications/Drama with a minor i Film from USC. As a staff writer at Universal Studios, Myla penned NBC episodics, MOWs, and an NBC special. Her credits include freelance work in the US and Canada. .
