You flubbed your lines in your monologue. You forgot your headshot. Your shoe broke right before you walked in the audition room. Your cold read was drier than the stale crackers you ate for breakfast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Auditions are scary, and sometimes they\u2019re rough, but don\u2019t let them define your whole acting career.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>One bad day does not diminish your\u00a0talent.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-2 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/1-2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember all those times you nailed a monologue in your acting class? What about that time you made an entire audience double over with laughter because of the way you delivered a single line? Having a sub-par audition doesn\u2019t erase your past, present, or future talent. It just means today wasn\u2019t your day. Take a deep breath, let it go, and remind yourself of why you\u2019re in this business. Let that memory push you forward. (However, if you don\u2019t prepare your audition in time or you purposefully \u201cthrow away\u201d your audition, your failure lies in your hands. Always do your best.)<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>You made the effort.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-3 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/2-2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think of all the people who <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">didn\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> show up to that audition. The ones who said they were going to go, but ended up cancelling &#8212; either because they were afraid or because they didn\u2019t have their material in time. You made the effort and the risk to put yourself out there. By walking in that audition room, you proved to the casting directors that you\u2019re dedicated to your art. <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>If you&#8217;re not cast, you have more time to\u00a0learn new skills.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-4 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/3-2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about all the time you\u2019ll have to work on your art. Ever wanted to take a dance class? What about an improv class? If you\u2019re short on funds, head to your local library and familiarize yourself with more plays. Use this time to better your craft so that, the next time you walk into an audition, you\u2019re more confident and prepared.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>You can&#8217;t take casting directors&#8217; reactions (or lack thereof) personally.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-5 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/4-2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting directors are people, too, and you can\u2019t always expect them to react the way you would like them to. You might face a casting director who is on the phone through your audition, is eating their lunch, or is totally emotionless through your monologue or cold read. Don\u2019t take it personally. Most times, casting directors have been in the audition room for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hours,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> watching hundreds of people do the same rotation of cold reads or similar monologues. They\u2019re exhausted. If no one reacts, or if they\u2019re busy on their phone, don\u2019t let it phase you. You do you, and move on.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>There will be more auditions in the future.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-6 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/5-2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about all the opportunities that come around in a year.
