She also talks about her early auditions and how you never know how the path is going to veer.<\/p>\n

In this episode of \u201cIn The Holding Room\u201d Princess Month kicks off with Susan Egan. Susan has made powerful impressions in theatre, film, television, and music. As a Broadway actress, she received Tony Award\u00ae and Drama Desk\u00ae nominations for \u201cBest Actress\u201d as Broadway\u2019s original \u201cBelle\u201d in Disney\u2019s Beauty and the Beast, headlined as Thoroughly Modern Millie, won critical acclaim as \u201cSally Bowles\u201d in Cabaret, originated the leading roles in Triumph of Love and State Fair, and starred alongside Carol Burnett in Putting It Together at the Mark Taper Forum and Tommy Tune in the national tour of Bye, Bye Birdie.<\/p>\n

She is best known to animation fans as\u201cRose Quartz\/Pink Diamond\u201d on Cartoon Network\u2019s hit Steven Universe, sassy \u201cMegara\u201d in Disney\u2019s Hercules, \u201cLin\u201d in the Academy Award-winning Spirited Away, \u201cGina\u201d in Porco Rosso, \u201cAngel\u201d in Lady and the Tramp II, and more. She\u2019s been seen on film in 13 Going on 30, Gotta Kick It Up for the Disney Channel, many award-winning indies, and spent two seasons on WB\u2019s Nikki and guest-starred on Modern Family, House, Numbers, NYPD Blue, Arli$$, Drew Carey, Party of Five, Great Performances, and others.<\/p>\n

Egan has over 400 solo concert credits with symphonies worldwide, including concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Hollywood Bowl, and has more than 40 recordings credits with 7 solo CDs.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Egan formed a company with fellow Broadway stars Laura Osnes and Courtney Reed, and musical director Benjamin Rauhala \u2013 to tour their award-winning concert, Broadway Princess Party. In 2021, that concert grew into Disney Princess \u2013 The Concert with Susan\u2019s company co-producing the expanded production with Disney Concerts.<\/p>\n

Susan is an accomplished master teacher in music performance, obsessive gardener, happy wife, and mom to two daughters\u2026 who have no interest in princesses.<\/p>\n
