Finalizing programs, solidifying run-thrus, managing the stress of cue-to-cue, getting last-minute props and costumes together. It\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a lot<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and sometimes we\u2019re so busy taking care of show-related things that we forget to take care of ourselves. Before you embark on that thrilling and terrifying adventure that is tech week, take a look at our tips for self-care (so you don\u2019t end up snapping at your director&#8230;or stage manager&#8230;or cast member).<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">1. Hydrate.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-2 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/1_Ways-to-Take-Care-of-Yourself-During-Tech-Week.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being dehydrated can result in weakness, fatigue, and painful headaches. Make sure to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Grab a <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Hydrate-Stainless-Bottle-Double-insulated\/dp\/B078SF7KFG\" target=\"_blank\"><b>32-ounce stainless steel water bottle<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to last you at least half the day. Tech week can involve grueling long hours without breaks (if you\u2019re not Equity), so make sure to pack meals and snacks in your rehearsal bag. A <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">great <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">way to prepare is to meal prep on a day off (or an evening or morning off). Prep healthy snacks that don\u2019t have to be refrigerated and pack them into small snack baggies. Awesome options are <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/stores\/node\/2587394011?_encoding=UTF8&amp;field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Clif%20Bar&amp;ref_=bl_dp_s_web_2587394011\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Clif bars<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, peanut butter and celery, carrots, jerky, vegetable chips, apples, oranges, bananas, trail mix, and dried fruit. Snacks will last you through the morning and afternoon. But for dinner, you might want to <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.delish.com\/cooking\/g1702\/casserole-recipes\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>make a casserole<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and then portion it out for evenings when you only have the energy to throw something in the microwave.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">3. You don\u2019t want a cramped or torn muscle during your second run-thru.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">5. If you\u2019d rather use a topical treatment, grab a teaspoon of coconut oil (some essential oils require a carrier oil so they don\u2019t burn your skin) and place a couple of drops of essential oils on the coconut oil. Mix and apply on the chest and behind the ears.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">6. Reading a book, taking a bath, talking a walk, writing in your journal, or gardening are great options. Even painting your nails or playing with a pet are helpful activities that reduce stress.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">7. First, try a Worry List, and jot down all the things that are bothering you, then decide what number of those things you <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/tinybuddha.com\/blog\/50-things-you-can-control-right-now\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>can control<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/tinybuddha.com\/blog\/50-things-you-can-control-right-now\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>can\u2019t control<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. See what\u2019s worth worrying over, and discard the rest. Second, try a Gratitude Log for each day during the run of the show, starting with tech week. Every day, write down at least three things you\u2019re grateful for to help you keep your spirits high and your stress low.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">8.
