When the students finish, instruct them to go down the line and call out their birth month and day. If someone is out of order, the students use nonverbal communication to move the person to the right spot.<\/p>\n<p>Time Limit: 15 &#8211; 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Bingo Bonding<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-3 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/bingo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p>Bingo is an excellent\u00a0exercise to establish a connection between new classmates. Create a Bingo board that includes many types of\u00a0experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples include:<\/p>\n<p><i>I&#8217;ve been to a foreign country.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I enjoy reading.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I&#8217;ve acted in a play.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I like to sing.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I ride the bus to school.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I never eat breakfast.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I am quiet.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I like sushi.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>To play: students walk around and talk to one another trying to find people who share their same interests. Choose a winner for the first row, first X, first outer squares, and for the first\u00a0blackout. Don&#8217;t forget to make the center square free.<\/p>\n<p>Time limit: An entire class period.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Name Games<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-4 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/10-Reasons-Theatre-Teachers-Are-The-Unsung-Heroes-Of-The-School_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p>One of the best and most basic name games involves listening and repeating.\u00a0 To play: make a big circle. The\u00a0teacher then asks each student to think of an adjective and action to describe themselves, (i.e., Rocking Robert. Go around the circle; give each student the chance to say their name, adjective and\u00a0perform their\u00a0action. After each student and the teacher have gone around once; the game becomes a test of\u00a0memory. Be sure to start with the person to the teacher&#8217;s left and end with the person to the teacher&#8217;s right that way the teacher learns all the names, adjectives, and actions.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t overlook the importance of name games during the first week of school. Nothing is more important than learning the names of each one of your students; and the faster you learn them, the better.<\/p>\n<p>Time limit: An entire class period.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Anyone Who Has Ever&#8230;<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-5 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/8-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p>&#8220;Anyone who has ever&#8230;&#8221; is the beginning of\u00a0a declaration by the players of the game. To play: form a big circle. One student runs\u00a0into the middle and makes an &#8220;Anyone who&#8221; statement, those players &#8220;who have&#8221; run and switch places, the student left without a spot is the new leader. Instruct the students to think of fun, engaging, simple, and unique things they have done.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone who has ever&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>worn two different colored socks<\/p>\n<p>been to a play<\/p>\n<p>gone to a concert<\/p>\n<p>has a twin<\/p>\n<p>Time limit: 15 to 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Pass the Pulse<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-6 hover-type-none\"> <img src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/blog_friends-standing-in-circle-holding-hands.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p>Pass the Pulse is a perfect end of the week activity. To play: form a circle,\u00a0ask the students to hold hands with their arms crossed in front, and to close their\u00a0eyes. The teacher then announces &#8220;pass the pulse begins now,&#8221; and squeezes the hand to her left. By squeezing each hand (starting with the teacher) the energy\u00a0is passed\u00a0from person to person. When the energy is received by the teacher again,\u00a0she raises her hands in the air while saying &#8220;wooo&#8221; and everyone turns around, untangling their\u00a0hands. The activity ends with everyone running into the circle, putting their hands in, chanting &#8220;1-2-3, GO _______! (fill in the blank with your own unique word,\u00a0class name, or troupe number.)<\/p>\n<p>Bonus: Before you start the pulse, while the students are holding hands, you could use this time to tell your students how well they did the first week. If you feel inspired; you may also allow a few students to compliment other students in the class.<\/p>\n<p>Time limit: 10-15 minutes.<\/p>\n<br>\r\n<br><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Need some advice?
