So what do you do differently when you\u2019re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">called back <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the show? Check out our pointers below!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">1. If you\u2019re given sides in advance, review them!<\/h4>\n<div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span style=\"border:1px solid ;\" class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-2 hover-type-none\"> <img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/1_tips-for-attending-callbacks.jpg\" class=\"img-responsive\"\/><\/span><\/div><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should ALWAYS read the play before auditioning for ANY show, regardless if it\u2019s a community or professional production. Sometimes sides are given at the initial audition, and if this happens, make sure your cold reading skills are up to par. (Read <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ba9bc9;\"><a style=\"color: #ba9bc9;\" href=\"https:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/5-simple-tips-to-improve-your-cold-reading-skills\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>this article<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to improve those!) However, if there\u2019s an additional callback on a different day, and you\u2019re sent sides in advance, make sure to read them through multiple times so you\u2019re familiar with the material (and so that you won\u2019t be staring at the piece of paper the entire time). Reading through sides helps you establish character choices, too! <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">2. Get multiple copies of these documents so you can have them on hand.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">3. You worked really hard for this opportunity, but don\u2019t think that means you\u2019ve got this in the bag. You\u2019ve still gotta work even harder for the honor of being cast. That means studying your sides in the audition room, thinking about character choices, and treating every moment as an opportunity to do better.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">5. This isn\u2019t a situation in which you should stare down your competition. Instead, stick to your own work and focus on yourself. If you meet or speak to another actor up for the same role, wish them broken legs and be friendly. You may make a new friend.
