1.\u00a0The Director\u2019s Spy<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

Otherwise known as the teacher\u2019s pet. This student is the undercover agent who hangs out with all the other thespians waiting to audition. But really? They’re observing everything you and the rest of the auditioners are up to so that they can later prepare a detailed report for the director.<\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong>\u00a0 They know the teacher\u2019s Starbucks order by heart.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0The Musical Theatre Obsessive<\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

They know the lyrics and cast lists for every musical released in the past five years, wear Broadway musical t-shirts to school every day, and will tell anyone who listens about that time they took a vocal workshop with Sutton Foster.<\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> You can\u2019t miss their incredibly loud and dramatic vocal warm-ups<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0The New to Theatre Kid<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

This is their first audition, and it shows. They have never heard of a headshot or resume, they\u2019ve prepared a monologue from the last episode Keeping Up With the Kardashians,<\/em> and they plan to sing a song by Justin Beiber.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> They\u2019re ready to be a star, but they have no idea where to stand on stage.<\/p>\n

4. The Actor Tech<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

They\u2019re only there because they want to do tech, but the teacher\/director is forcing them audition for a grade.<\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> They perform the shortest monologue you\u2019ve ever heard, and they disappear from the stage in an instant.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0The Kid Who Loves Improv<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

This jokester prefers to \u201cwing it,\u201d but if they HAVE TO have a monologue, they\u2019ll bring one from a Jim Carey movie — a monologue they haven\u2019t rehearsed so that it feels spontaneous for the audition.<\/p>\n

This athletic superstar was put into a theatre class by mistake, and along the way figured out that this \u201cacting stuff can be fun\u201d — but only if it works around their after-school sports schedule.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> They are wearing their jersey to the audition.<\/p>\n

7. The Shy One<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

Quiet as a mouse, they somehow arrived at auditions, waited their turn, and performed a monologue and song, all while flying completely under the radar, and drawing no attention to themselves.<\/p>\n

How to spot them<\/strong>: The teacher asked their name.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s been the lead in every show she\u2019s auditioned for, she plans to continue her reign\u00a0as Supreme Drama Queen, and she vows to destroy anyone or anything that tries to interfere with that.<\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> She probably pushed you out of the way on the way into the audition.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a charmer who can act, sing, and dance. His audition leaves the whole room swooning.<\/p>\n

How to spot them:<\/strong> He makes your heart flutter.<\/p>\n

10. The New Friend<\/h4>\n \"\"<\/span>

The friendships you create during shows and at auditions can last a lifetime. This is the person you\u2019re thankful everyday to have met.\u00a0 They have your back, and you have theirs.\u00a0 Thespian fam for life!<\/p>\n

How to Spot Them<\/strong>: They\u2019re by your side, keeping you sane through the whole audition, and making sure you don\u2019t fall off the stage.<\/p>\n
