With little effort on your part, the directors will be wowed beyond belief.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1034\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/britt.gif\" alt=\"britt\" width=\"500\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There\u2019s a lot of talented people out there. If you don\u2019t put in the work, you won\u2019t make a good impression. But hey, maybe you\u2019ll still get a part in the ensemble, and an opportunity to learn, which leads to\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>First Musical Rehearsal<\/h4>\n<br><p><strong>Expectation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1041\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/lea.gif\" alt=\"lea\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The minute you open your mouth, the song you sing will sound like pure perfection the first time. That\u2019s how it happened on Glee, right?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1033\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/boy.gif\" alt=\"boy\" width=\"500\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Life is not a TV show. It won\u2019t be perfect the first time. Singing in a musical is so much more than relying on natural talent. Hitting all the right notes, harmonies, and melodies takes time and rehearsals. A good vocal coach, who knows his or her stuff, can get you there. Take your notes, and practice practice practice, and you\u2019ll get there, just don\u2019t forget to save some energy for\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>Choreography Rehearsal<\/h4>\n<br><p><strong>Expectation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1036\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/dance.gif\" alt=\"dance\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You\u2019ve got rhythm. You know how to move. You put on one heck of a concert in your livingroom when you\u2019re home alone and your favorite song comes on, so of course choreography will come natural to you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1032\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/bagbang.gif\" alt=\"bagbang\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Freestyle dancing to pop music and learning musical theatre choreography are two very different things. Yes, both involve rhythm and movement, but theatre choreo can be complex and intricate.\u00a0 The old saying goes, \u201cyou have to learn to crawl before you can walk.&#8221; In theatre you have to learn to count (usually an 8-count) before you can dance. Don\u2019t worry though, keep following your choreographer, and you\u2019ll get those moves down, but just when you have it all mastered, you need to learn how to do it in costume. And speaking of costumes\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>Costume Parade<\/h4>\n<br><p><strong>Expectation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1038\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/dress.gif\" alt=\"dress\" width=\"375\" height=\"212\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Everyone will be stunned when you join the costume parade in your fashionable and unforgettable new costume.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1035\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/bunny.gif\" alt=\"bunny\" width=\"500\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That new costume IS unforgettable, for all the wrong reasons. It\u2019s shapeless, scratchy, and smells like Grandma\u2019s attic, but the director and costumer both say, \u201cIt\u2019s perfect.\u201d You\u2019re embarrassed to know that in just a few days, you\u2019ll be wearing this frock in front of\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-one-full fusion-layout-column fusion-column-last fusion-spacing-yes section-body-post\" style=\"margin-top:;margin-bottom:;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper\"><h4>The Audience<\/h4>\n<br><p><strong>Expectation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1043\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/theatermove_2.gif\" alt=\"theatermove_2\" width=\"615\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The theatre will be packed to the walls, full of raving fans, who can\u2019t possibly remain in their seats when the show ends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1039\" src=\"http:\/\/performerstuff.com\/mgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/freeman.gif\" alt=\"freeman\" width=\"332\" height=\"249\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Live theatre isn\u2019t for everyone, and every audience is different.
